If you want your private files to remain private, then your best bet to is to encrypt them. Once a file has been encrypted, the only way to access it is by decrypting it. But since you’re the only one who knows the password that will decrypt the file, you’re the only one with access to that file. Simple, right?

Kryptos will help you block unauthorized access to your files by providing a simple yet efficient means of encrypting them. You see, Kryptos is a free encryption tool that provides support for two encryption algorithms: Rijndael (which will encrypt any file you give it) and TripleDES (which will turn plain text into ciphertext).

On top of letting you encrypt files, Kryptos also provides a bit of useful information about your system: what Windows edition you’re running, what type of processor you have, and few other details.

Kryptos doesn’t need to be installed (which means that it is a portable application). To get started with Kryptos, what you have to do is download a ZIP archive, extract its contents, and then run the Kryptos executable.

Kryptos has a tabbed interface that provides support for several color themes: Default, White, Black, Yellow, Red, Blue, Green, Purple. Click on the Settings tab and use the Select Theme dropdown menu to select the theme you want to use.

Kryptos is freeware. You can use this encryption tool for free for as long as you want.

Thanks to Kryptos, a free and portable encryption tool for Windows, you can easily encrypt files and thus protect them against unauthorized access. Kryptos supports the Rijndael and TripleDES encryption algorithms.

Pros

Kryptos displays some useful information about your system. Kryptos can encrypt data using the Rijndael and TripleDES encryption algorithms. Kryptos is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of.
